Frequently Asked Questions

Yes! Get OuTside Therapy Services provides occupational therapy for adults! We provide outdoor-based occupational therapy services for ALL ages, from infancy to adulthood!

Get OuTside Therapy provides community-based occupational therapy in and around the Nashville region–including surrounding counties! This means your OT will come to your home and/or meet you out in the community! Therapy sessions can take place at hiking trails, state parks, play grounds, swimming pools, and anywhere else that allows us to get OuTside!

Get OuTside Therapy Services does NOT take insurance. We offer Super Bills for our services at the end of each month at your request if you would like to file for reimbursement from your insurance company.

We do not take insurance because insurance companies tend to operate on a medical-model of therapy delivery; this means that insurance will be deciding what goals we can work on, how often we can see clients, and where we can see clients. Get OuTside was founded to do the OPPOSITE. We believe that collaboration with the client (NOT the insurance company) on goals and a treatment plan is the most important part of your therapy success.

Our initial evaluation costs a flat rate of $250.

Session price is based on a sliding scale and session frequency, and it varies upon an individual’s/family’s needs.

The maximum session price is $125/session.

  1. Set up a consult call to make sure Get OuTside Therapy is a good fit for you and your needs. You can set up a consult call by clicking here!
  2. Complete your Occupational Therapy Evaluation. After you determine Get OT is right for you, you will set up an OT evaluation with us. This typically takes place in your home (or somewhere where you/your child feels most comfortable) and will take anywhere from 1-2 hours. Your OT will come to your home and gather information in order to determine if occupational therapy is appropriate, and what a recommended treatment plan (including goals) would include. Your OT will collect information by interview, standardized assessments, and reviewing any past medical records you are willing to share.
  3. Collaboration Meeting. About 1 week after the evaluation is complete, you will meet with your occupational therapist to go over the results of the evaluation, and the recommended goals and service frequency. This is a collaborative meeting! Nothing is finalized in the treatment plan until everyone feels happy with the plan. This meeting typically takes place via video call, and will take between 15-30 minutes. It is included in the cost of your initial evaluation.
  4. Get OuTside! Finally, you will start services and Get OuTside! Sessions typically start at your home, or wherever you feel most comfortable. We have the luxury of flexibility, and we can meet anywhere! We do not have to spend all (or any) of the session outside; however, it is, of course, encouraged!

We love the outdoors, and all the crazy weather that comes with it. If it is SAFE, we will encourage getting outside in all types of weather, including heat, rain, and snow. However, we know that sometimes, the weather is not safe, or it’s not ideal to do a session in the pouring rain. We also know that not all folks can tolerate being outside for a full hour at a time. Luckily, we are able to be flexible. If a session cannot be done outside, or a client doesn’t feel like going outside that day, we can do sessions indoors, and will try our
